In this panel you will be offered to define individual article element settings. In this section you will be allowed to setup preferences for some article elements, related articles, latest news, headlines, news ticker, most popular, most emailed and top rated articles.
There are default system-wide options for articles. You may also set them in Articles section. For detailed description how to set up these parameters, please see Manage articles section. Some of them can be overridden for individual article entries.
Select this option if you want to enable related articles box. This module displays a list of articles that are related (relevant) to the article currently displayed.
Before they can be related, articles have to be cached, so pay attention to keep Cache option turned on, otherwise it will not work. To turn cache on go to: Preferences → Page caching. Read Page caching preferences section to learn more about Vivvo caching.
After cashing process is completed, you may relate articles by selecting Maintenance → Relate Articles.
Your articles will be related after they were indexed depending on the relevance of the Items. You may predefine how much categories, tags and text elements are relevant to your site content by selecting appropriate value from the dropdown list.
Select if you want full text to be included in related articles indexing. If this option is not turned on, only the titles and summary fields, but no body text will be indexed.
In this section you will be offered to define display options for Latest news section that should reflect latest added stories, or sorted stories.
You can control number of news (articles) that will be visible on your homepage. The higher number you enter the longer home page will be.
You can also control the number of columns for your latest articles. From the dropdown menu select if you want your latest news to appear in 1, 2 or 3 columns.
From the display order dropdown list you may select how your latest news will appear on the page.
You can choose to show the latest news from a particular section or from multiple sections. Also, you can show your latest items from a single category or multiple categories. To make multiple selections hold down Ctrl key on your keyboard and select categories and subcategories to be displayed.
When finished click Save button to apply changes.
Header box is placed on most visible place on your homepage and is used to catch the reader's attention. It displays one large image, title and short abstract of your article. To have an article displayed in this section you should set its status to Headline.
Choose if you want headlines box to be displayed on your website.
If your headline box is turned on, it will appear on your home page in the form of Rotating Headlines.
Enter the time interval for headline rotation (in seconds):
Click Save button to save changes you made.
Scrolling news ticker will appear on horizontal line under the menu (your website header). It contains titles of recently posted articles.
If you want to set aside most popular (recently visited) articles, make most popular module active.
You may also turn on the counter box which may display overall or daily number of readings of an article.
Your users may send to their friends articles they find interesting. Most emailed box lists articles that are most often “recommended” using “Email to a friend” option. You can turn on most emailed component if you want to by selecting Yes option.
